Location... Location... Location....We parked the car and never saw it for 5 days. Walking distance to all city amenities. Friendly, courteous, and knowedgeable staff always on hand to assist with travel needs, itinerary and reservations. Morning breakfast is pure delight. Late afternoon cocktail hour was a great way to relax after a day out and precursor to the dinner hour. Evening cookies and milk can't be missed. Turndown service puts the touch on the close of a perfect day. The hotel has wonderous nostalgic charm mixed with modern conveniences. Our return to the Vendue is imminent.

The Vendue Inn has to be one of our most favorite places to stay!!!! We loved Charleston and a big part of that was the hospitality we recieved at this boutique hotel. As we walked around the city we kept commenting on how fortunate that we were to be staying at the Vendue Inn -- there didn't seem to be any other place that we would have preferred to stay. We will definitely return.

Location - French Quarter, center of dining, shopping, sightseeing, walking distance to almost all historic district attractions. Character of hotel is charming; included breakfasts excellent. What makes this hotel superb, however, is their outstanding staff - treated like royalty, addressed by name, always with eye contact and smile. Clearly and honestly enthusiastic about wanting to meet our needs, answer questions, and for us to have a great stay. Made excellent suggestions that enhanced our stay greatly.

The hotel has a couple of things going for it that make for a delightful experience: 1) location cannot be beat 2) the staff is incredibly helpful 2) the roof top bar is a fabulous spot to take in agreat 360 degree view of Charleston 3) a fantastic breakfast is included in the room rate.

The room needed a full length mirror

We stayed at the Vendue Inn on a Thursday and Friday night. It is in the Historic District and very convenient to everything. All of the hotels in this area are quite expensive during this high tourist season. Cheaper if you go during the week because it jumped $70 for a weekend night. Building is 200 years old so don't expect new and modern. However, it's lovely and very comfortable. Our room was a King with a fireplace so it was good size. They have a very nice hot breakfast and a wine tasting between 4-5 p.m. every day with snacks. Service is beyond impeccable. The doorman even remembered our name every time we saw him. The concierge helped us with a tour and restaurants. Very nice place to stay and would definitely use them again.

Pillows were very soft, but I didn't ask to get firmer pillows which they might have had. The tub is very high with claw feet and thought it was a bit dangerous getting in and out for a shower. They are very clear about no smoking, but allow smoking at their rooftop lounge even at the bar which is under cover. We had to move because two people were smoking a cigar that made me feel sick. We were told this is one of the few lounges in the city that allows smoking. I am going to take that up with the hotel because we had to sign that we understood there was no smoking.

Loved the location and the small things- the funky lay out, the room design, the reception in the afternoon, the breakfast. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The beds were so comfortable and it was very quiet. Loved the Roof Top as well.

Rooms were a tad small and we could not get a room with two beds.

The staff were excellent and the room was wonderful. It is an older building but everything has been upgraded to keep the charm of the original hotel. One of our best experiences ever. The Library restaurant food was outstanding. Very well located.

Great atmosphere and awesome location for walking around and sight seeing. Room and bed were clean and comfortable and slept like I was home. Overall great experience but it was only for one night

Couldn't get the fireplace to light but it was 100 degrees outside at the time so it really was not an issue

We have stayed at Vendue before (11 years ago). The place is incredible. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Service was impeccable, the wait staff greet you by name for the entire trip. One of my favorite inns in the US.

Staff at this hotel are all very friendly. Location was excellent, and food was wonderful. Manager's reception was very welcoming and generous, and the delicious breakfast was a great way to wake up every day. Hotel is classy, clean, and comfortable. Someone was always available to answer our questions and provide recommendations. I would definitely love to go back again and stay at this hotel whenever we go to Charleston.

The staff made us feel so welcome. We loved the way we were greeted by name each time we saw a staff member. The rooms were quaint and extremely comfortable.
